Temecula Wine Country
The Temecula Valley is now recognized as a full-fledged appellation. Forty years after the Rancho California Development Corporation’s Richard Break and Leon Borel planted 56 varieties of wine-making grapes in five different locations. There are more than 3,500 acres of producing vineyards and has more than 30 wineries. The industry has also helped to support Old Town Temecula, which now houses several high end tasting rooms. The Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival is hosted annually at Lake Skinner and offers patrons wine tasting, live entertainment and hot air balloon rides.
Golf
Temecula has nine golf courses within the city limits. They include Redhawk, Temecula Creek Inn, Pechanga’s Journey, CrossCreek, Pala Mesa, the SCGA Member’s Course and Temeku Hills.
Old Town Temecula
“Old Town Temecula” is an area comprised of antique stores, buildings developed in the 1890s, hotels, boutiques, gift and collectible stores and specialty food stores. Many events are also hosted in “Old Town Temecula such as; The Rod Run, western days, plays put on by Old Town Temecula Community
